I am not a Christian Scientist....But Christian Science contains a great and frequently forgotten truth. It is that which has given it its enormous vitality, and this is it: It is the truth contained in the text that God is not an absentee God, who created this world and then went on a vacation, leaving us to grope our way alone, by means of forms and ceremonies; but that He is "the living God;" a perpetual presence; now! here! That He has the power of directly and immediately communicating with us, and that we have the power of directly and immediately entering into communion with Him; and that if we will really and truly believe this, then, in this great adventure of daily living, we shall be able to win the victory over sin and sorrow, and often sickness, of which these are so frequently the cause.
