Christian Science came into my life, as a ray of healing light, at a time when I was filled with sorrow. During months of effort to find relief from this sorrow, I constantly read books from the theological section of our public library; but received only temporary relief. One day, when I returned for another selection of books, I was impelled to take from the shelf "Miscellaneous Writings," by Mrs. Eddy. Reluctantly, I took the book home with me. Soon I was poring over its pages; and so different was its presentation of the truth from anything I had read before that I found myself at once mentally refreshed, and in a few days was entirely healed of the sorrow.

For a period of ten years previous to this time I had thought I was bitterly opposed to Christian Science, and prejudiced against Mrs. Eddy. With the healing of sorrow came the healing of this opposition and prejudice. These had been replaced by loving gratitude to God, who had directed me to study this beautiful, practical religion. We are told on page 254 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that "when we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path." For years I had been yearning to understand God better, and to know how to pray aright. This I am learning more and more each day, through the study of Christian Science.

I have had physical healings, for which I am very grateful. A few years ago I had influenza, which later seemed to develop into bronchial pneumonia. This was beautifully healed through Christian Science treatment. I am so grateful for the one which I have experienced; but am most grateful for the one which is constantly unfolding in my thought,—the healing of spiritual ignorance. Through this healing I am finding the Bible to be an unfailing help in every time of need. I am grateful to be a member of The Mother Church, and for the blessed privilege of class instruction in Christian Science.
