In the year 1917 I was physically ill and was made whole. To mortal sense, I was suffering with neuritis, and had lost the use of my limbs. When the practitioner was called, I was in bed unable to help myself. In a few days after Christian Science treatment was begun, I could raise myself in bed. A few days following that, with help I got into a rocking-chair and was pulled out into the dining room. In two weeks, I was able to walk, by holding to the furniture, and within a month I could walk alone in my home and to my sister's home, which was in the same yard, and called up the practitioner. I then made calls at the practitioner's office a few times for another month, and am now healthy and robust.
At that time, I was laboring with the belief of financial loss, my husband and I having sold our home and invested our all in a project which brought us no returns. After I related my story to the practitioner, her first statement was, "God's child never lost anything," and, as I awakened to this fact, it proved true in my experience, for my seemingly lost health, strength, and locomotion returned. But greatest of all, the understanding of God came to light and my material thinking is being supplanted by spiritual thinking.
I am especially grateful for joy and happiness, knowing, as Jesus said, "Your joy no man taketh from you."
