the early days the man who conquered himself and was called Israel, a soldier of God, declared, "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
How
often one hears it said by those just beginning the study of Christian Science that they see the theory but cannot understand or demonstrate its Principle.
When
we accept Christian Science and its divine Principle, God, as our only standard for right living, we find, as in everything else, our concept of honesty quite different from any former idea of honesty we have ever entertained.
So
much help and light were recently received by the writer from the words of Peter, "Use hospitality one to another without grudging," that she desires to share the blessing with others.
Paul,
that tireless advocate of right thinking, has given to the world in his first letter to the Corinthians an urgent plea for right speaking, or, as he so fittingly puts it, "excellency of speech.
Christian Science has come to the world at a time when mankind is hungering and thirsting after righteousness, and has brought a message of peace, harmony, and health that meets the world's need, unfolding and proving a full salvation from all phases of evil.
The following letters were sent to the Editorial Department by the Treasurer of The Mother Church, on April 10, 1920, with a request for publication in the Christian Science Sentinel:—

Lecture notices can be printed in a particular number of the Sentinel when they reach the editorial department twelve days preceding its date of publication.
Christian Science came to me, as it does to many others, in time of discouragement, when many doctors had failed to give me any permanent help, and I had given up hope that I should ever be well again; but all troubles have left me one by one until life seems bright and harmonious once more.
Words fail to express my gratitude for the many beautiful demonstrations we have had in our home since beginning the study and practice of Christian Science.
Many times, as I have feasted upon these messages of loving gratitude to God for His great goodness, as they go forth to help some hungering heart, wandering in the desert of human hopes, I have longed to add a word that might also go forth and not return void.
