The Lectures

Staten Island, N. Y. (First Church).—Dr. John M. Tutt, lecturer; introduced by Soren A. Thorensen, who said in part:—

In Matthew we read, "And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease," and also, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils." The message which we shall hear this evening accords with these instructions and sayings of the Master, who knew that true happiness, peace, and health are a direct result of the understanding of his words and works. Christian Science has come to this age as a practical, demonstrable religion, as the law of good, whose mission is to fulfill the Master's promises to his disciples, and thereby to comfort, bless, and heal all men.
