The study of Christian Science came to me through the urgent need of help in sickness. I had always been healthy except for a bowel trouble. This trouble suddenly grew worse, followed by severe headaches; then followed a peculiar form of nervousness, sleepless nights, and attacks of epilepsy, which became more frequent and severe. Effects upon the proper action of my lungs were already apparent, and very little hope was held out for me by physicians.

A neighbor told my mother of the healing of her daughter's eyes through Christian Science, and absent treatment for me was asked for. A most wonderful feeling of peace soon possessed me. I threw away all medicines and material remedies of any kind, and have never since felt any need for them. At night sleep came easily. I could eat anything with no bad after effects. The discords did not all disappear until more than a year, but I was happy meantime, feeling no sense of discouragement, since a great blessing, outside the healing, had come into my life. I am well and strong now and have proved many times that Christian Science is a practical help in need, no matter in what form the need may appear.

Through the study of Christian Science the Bible has become a helpful and interesting study. Many errors in my disposition are gradually losing their hold, others are constantly being uncovered for destruction. I am indeed thankful for being able to grasp more clearly the meaning of eternal Life. My great desire is to pay the debt of gratitude I owe for all that is being revealed to me through this study. I am truly grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who so lovingly worked to show us the way of Truth, and grateful for all the activities established by her and so faithfully carried out by students of Christian Science all over the world.
