Awakened

I came upon a violet—
A little thing;
Ah, but I thought, and thought again,
That day in spring.

A lark, aloft, trilled gladsome song—
A simple thing;
And yet, I felt a moment hence
My soul awing.

I saw one raised to speedy health;
Death thrust aside!
Only the touch of Love, but lo,
"Christ risen," I cried.
