The question is often asked, "Can I be healed if I have no knowledge of Christian Science?" This I can answer by my own experience about fourteen years ago, when I was healed by reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

At that time I had been struggling with hay fever and catarrh which was said to be inherited. After leaving my home and coming to Minnesota I had hopes that the change of climate would be beneficial to me, but instead I grew worse. One day I was obliged to leave the office where I was employed, as my eyes were so badly affected that it seemed impossible for me to work on figures. After reaching home I noticed my mother's copy of Science and Health lying on the table and I opened it and commenced reading, and never thought of my eyes again. In a short time I arose from my chair completely healed. From that time I took up the study of Christian Science and have had the privilege of working for the cause in many ways.

While I have always been grateful for this healing and realize that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," in bringing me into this new-old truth, I am daily more grateful for the knowledge that is coming to me. As Mrs. Eddy says on page 95 of Science and Health, "We welcome the increase of knowledge and the end of error, because even human invention must have its day, and we want that day to be succeeded by Christian Science, by divine reality." I am thankful to God and grateful to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
