On August 3, 1913, I had my first treatment in Christian Science. I was confined to my bed all one winter with inflammatory rheumatism, and had stomach trouble for years so that nothing seemed to agree with me. Now I can eat anything I want. Owing to a severe condition of hernia I had to undergo an operation, but it was a failure and I was obliged to wear a truss. The Christian Science practitioner told me not to use any material means, so I removed the support on retiring that night, and left it off next morning, although the doctor had told me never to go without it. That was over six years ago and I have never used it since. In 1914 I sprained one of my ankles, but a practitioner treated me and in a few days it was all right. In 1917 one of my ankles was fractured and blood poisoning developed. I was treated in Christian Science, but had a good deal of fear and it was some time before I was healed. Pneumonia and neuralgia have also been overcome through the application of Christian Science.

I feel so thankful to God, and grateful to our Leader for giving us a better understanding of spiritual things, also am grateful for the literature and the testimonies. I have attended Christian Science service and lectures only a few times, but enjoy reading the Lesson-Sermons and the literature. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy above all women, for the help she has given us in leading us to Christ, Truth.
