In gratitude for the many healings and benefits received...
In gratitude for the many healings and benefits received through Christian Science and the study of its literature, this testimony is given with the hope that it may be of benefit to some sufferer. Several years ago, I experienced a number of severe hemorrhages of the lungs. An examination showed tubercular infection, and I was sent to the arid regions of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. For ten years healing was sought through climate, diet, and materia medica, but at the end of that period, about thirteen years ago, while I was a resident of Missouri, the trouble once more became alarming, and change of climate was again recommended. Through friends, however, I became interested in Christian Science and shortly thereafter sought a practitioner. The healing of chronic bowel disorder followed the first treatment and this brought assurance and confidence. Other discordant conditions disappeared within a comparatively short time, and there has been no return of any of the symptoms. The healing of the tubercular trouble was complete, and there has been an increase in my weight. Since this experience I have been accepted for life insurance and have also passed the army physical examination. With this healing came an understanding of the fatherhood and motherhood of God and the overcoming of the belief in the laws of heredity. The tobacco habit of long standing, which had been carried to excess, left without specific treatment.
Many of the members of my family have been benefited by Christian Science, their interest having been awakened through witnessing my healing. I owe my very existence and many years of happiness, prosperity, and a measure of usefulness to the truths discovered by Mrs. Eddy, as taught in her authorized writings, and am deeply grateful for all of the channels through which this good has come to me.—A B. Ritchie, Sewickley, Pa.
