There
is, perhaps, no way in which Christian Science has been more helpful to mankind in everyday problems than in teaching them to distinguish between thoughts and illusions.
If
one were looking at a beautiful landscape through a pane of red glass, all the trees, the sky, the grass, and other objects would appear red; and if one had always looked at the landscape through red glass it would be difficult indeed to convince him that the trees and grass are green and the sky blue.
In an otherwise excellent editorial entitled "Christmas" in the Gazette-Times, it is unfortunate that its author should go so far out of his way as to insert a reference to Christian Science, which is not calculated to inform but rather to misinform.

to the ordinary man about a well-ordered world and he is quite apt to deny the reign of law altogether, declaring that never in the earth has there been so much disorder and overturning of old things.

the Bible we read, "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven;" and in Science and Health.

During the past seven years I have been able to testify many times to the comforting proofs of God's care as demonstrated in Christian Science, but within the past six months we have had an experience in our immediate family which is of so convincing a nature that it can neither be explained away nor dismissed with the oft-repeated, "Oh, that might have happened anyway.
Christian Science was brought to me more than fourteen years ago, and though at the time I understood nothing of its teachings, I relied sufficiently on it to give up medical treatment, and with the help of a practitioner I was healed of appendicitis with only absent treatment.
In gratitude for the many healings and benefits received through Christian Science and the study of its literature, this testimony is given with the hope that it may be of benefit to some sufferer.
