It is with a sense of deep gratitude for the numerous blessings which have come to me through the study of Christian Science that I add my testimony to the many which tell of the richness of this, God's blessing poured out to mankind. In 1904, after years of mental darkness and physical anguish, I was told I had small chance of recovery from an operation which was, according to three physicians, absolutely imperative if I would live another day. In my fear and despair I resolved first to see what a little band of people claiming to heal by prayer and calling themselves Christian Scientists, could do for me, so a practitioner was called. For three weeks I had been suffering from fever, pain, and sleeplessness, said to be due to an abnormal growth, but after treatment was given me I fell asleep and awoke healed. I arose from bed, dressed, and ate a hearty meal with my family. There has been no return of the trouble in any form.

I knew that the healing was of God, and through many proofs of the availability of this truth since that time I have day by day gained clearer views of God as Love. I was healed of rheumatism and chronic Bright's disease through the reading of Science and Health, also of nervousness and a very ugly temper. I am endeavoring to glorify God in my body as a proof of His loving-kindness to the children of men. My earnest desire is to grow into a more complete understanding of God's will and way, and so to express in some measure my gratitude for this great light that hath shined into my life and my appreciation of the help of loving friends.

Words are inadequate to express my sense of indebtedness to Mrs. Eddy, our revered Leader, who so lovingly gave to us this rich legacy and the many helps to progress,—our reading rooms, and especially the spirit of loving unity to be found in every true follower of this Christ-teaching. —Clara P.
