About six years ago I first turned to Christian Science...
About six years ago I first turned to Christian Science through the interest of a friend; but although I realized great benefits from the few treatments received, I did not accept its message at that time. The seed of truth had however been sown, and about May, 1914, feeling a sincere desire to understand the teachings of Christian Science, I began the study in earnest. Although I did not come to Science for physical healing, I am grateful for freedom from sick headaches, from which I had been a lifelong sufferer; and colds and other ills have been overcome by the help of practitioners. I am far more grateful, however, for the love of the Bible and the understanding of it which I have gained, also for the knowledge of an ever present, loving Father-Mother God, divine Principle, and for a demonstrable rule by which to work out every problem, whether mental, physical, spiritual, or financial.
Christian Science is enabling me to overcome criticism, discouragement, impatience, and other unlovely traits of disposition, and is teaching me to be more kind and charitable toward my fellow men. The daily helps received from the periodicals, the great blessing of class instruction, and the joy of being able to help others through this wonderful truth make me daily more grateful to Mrs. Eddy for bringing to this age this new-old truth that Christ Jesus used and taught. My desire is to strive always to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," and to do with willing hands whatever work is apportioned me in my Father's vineyard.
