Fourteen years ago, while searching for a more intimate knowledge of God, I was led to Christian Science through reading an adverse article in the daily newspaper. I waited to see if any answer would be forthcoming, and shortly a letter appeared which breathed a tone so different to the article mentioned that I determined to look into the subject. Accordingly I went to the reading room to ask some questions and to procure the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Its beautiful promise and logic at once impressed me, but it was not until six months later that I definitely decided to form my life upon its basis.
At first I did not think much about physical healing, but soon began to hope that Truth would free me from an imperfection which as a younger woman had greatly troubled me. It was an eruption on my face, which though not bad had become chronic and caused much self-consciousness. I had treatment from several practitioners, but apparently the trouble did not yield. Not until it became advisable for me on account of diminished income to live quietly in the country, did it vanish from my thought, and then I awoke quite suddenly to the fact that it had disappeared.
It is because I feel I have never adequately expressed my gratitude for the healing of this discordant condition that I am sending this testimony to the Sentinel. For all the other great benefits which I have received, such as peace of mind, the gradual elimination of fear and worry, an ever growing capacity to demonstrate harmony in my daily life and surroundings, with a much brighter outlook upon life as a whole, I do indeed thank God, the giver of all good; also Mrs. Eddy, through whose patient labors these blessings are today offered to all mankind.
