This acknowledgment of my healing is lovingly submitted

This acknowledgment of my healing is lovingly submitted. Nearly thirty years ago I was healed through Christian Science after all hope of recovery was abandoned by family and friends. From young girlhood I had not been well, and the various diseased conditions assumed more and more critical stages as time passed. New and dangerous ailments appeared while I was under the care of good physicians. Change of climate and different modes of living were tried, but I only grew worse.

When I was apparently nearing the end, a ray of light reached me through a copy of The Christian Science Journal. How comforting the message it contained, for life seemed so precious to me then! Yet I do not think that I was so much impressed with the thought of physical ease as of relief from the mental unrest. I longed to have some assurance of the forever care of our heavenly Father, and was very loath to give up the sense of life until I had this. When it was most graciously given, imagine if possible the joy of finding that it was not necessary to die to gain this understanding, but that I needed only to realize Life more fully.

The physical condition was almost forgotten in this spiritual quickening, but I soon found myself able to do as others did, and for the first time seemed to be in normal health. I do not recall a day in all the years since my healing when I have been wholly incapacitated, although there have been times when discords have had to be eradicated from consciousness. I love to think of Mrs. Eddy's heroic leadership, of the example she was to the whole world in her loving dependence on God for guidance, and then how gently she would lead her followers up to "the throne of grace."
