In August, 1907, my leg and ankle were badly injured in an accident. Several well known physicians were of the opinion that I might lose the use of the leg entirely, while others thought that I might walk again after a year or more. All agreed that medical treatment could do nothing for me. Then Christian Science was mentioned by a friend of my mother, and although I had no faith in it, I was willing to try anything. I was carried upstairs for my first treatment, but was able to walk down, whereas for seven weeks I had been dependent upon crutches. The next day all swelling disappeared and a high-heeled house slipper was worn with perfect comfort. In three weeks I was in the schoolroom and able to walk about twenty-four blocks a day. I have had no further trouble with the leg. Later my eyes were healed, although glasses had been worn over ten years and I had been told they would always be needed. A few years ago chronic appendicitis was overcome in three days, and a large abnormal growth disappeared under the same treatment.
These are only a few of the blessings I have received from Christian Science, for which I am deeply grateful.
