Deep gratitude is felt for the benefits which have come into my life through the daily study and application of Christian Science. When I turned to Science I was in great need of physical healing, having been for several years a constant sufferer from a stomach disorder and extreme nervous exhaustion. My sight also was much impaired. Medical skill could do no more for me, and I cried constantly to God for help. I studied the Bible earnestly, knowing that God could and would heal me if only I had a better understanding of Him.
One day about five years ago, while reading the words of the psalmist, "Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain," I saw the futility of all human striving and turned to God more unreservedly for help. About three days after this I decided to investigate Christian Science, and as a result was instantly healed of the stomach trouble and impairment of sight. The spiritual understanding of divine law was so revealed to me that I grasped, in some measure at least, the great fact of the one lawgiver, God, and of man in His image and likeness.
It is almost seven years since my first healing in Christian Science, and there has not been the slightest return of the ailment. I am now able to spend long hours in constant toil, and to perform without fatigue any task that is required of me, for I have learned the source of strength; it is omnipotent Mind.—Eva M. Thorpe, Philadelphia, Pa.
