I wish to bear grateful witness to the power of Truth as demonstrated in the healing of my little daughter from infantile paralysis. The child was taken ill one day about four years ago, and the symptoms were so unmistakable that I telephoned at once to her father, at his business office, telling him of the condition. As he had at that time no knowledge of Christian Science, in fact felt himself to be much opposed to it, he asked me to call a physician. This was done, and the trouble was declared to be infantile paralysis. The diagnosis was confirmed the following day by a specialist. Both physicians were frank in saying that they had no cure to offer.
At this point my daughter was put under Christian Science treatment, and the improvement was marked at once, though treatment was continued for several months before I was convinced that she was absolutely free. One day after her healing had taken place I was watching her at play, and when I saw her joyous, spontaneous activity these words of Jesus came to me with a new meaning: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."—Elizabeth B. Githens, Webster Groves, Mo.
