It is about seven years since my healing in Christian Science. Before that I was in bed almost three months, then improved enough to sit up, but the muscles were so contracted that my legs were bent nearly double and I was unable to walk. For almost six months I tried different medical applications, but to no avail. Then I began to get discouraged, for I was only about sixteen years old, and to see my friends and schoolmates enjoying themselves actively while I could not do so, filled me with hopelessness.

A sister then came to see me and asked me to go to her home for a visit. I felt it would be too much trouble for her to wait on me, but at length was persuaded to go back with her. One day she asked if I would be willing to have Christian Science treatment, and I said I would try anything. We wrote to a practitioner in a neighboring town, and within three weeks I walked into another room for something to use in my sewing. I have had no trouble in walking since, and my legs are now straight and strong. In all I had six weeks' treatment.

I am very grateful for the many blessings that have come to me in Christian Science, and to the dear Leader who gave this teaching to us from God. My father is a veterinary surgeon and believes in medicine, but he has willingly acknowledged that Christian Science has done for me what medicine could not do, and we are all very grateful for the blessings given us because of it.
