About thirteen years ago I became interested in Christian Science through the healing of my mother of acute stomach trouble for which she had doctored several years without receiving benefit. My first healing was of extreme nervousness and a structural defect of the eyes. I had worn glasses for years and had been told that they would always have to be worn.

The real test of my faith came about a year later, when I was taken with a most acute attack of appendicitis. Even my mother's faith wavered, so intense was my suffering, and she asked if I did not want a physician. I clung to the truth, however, and with the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner I was free by the third day. There was not even any sense of weakness, though nothing had passed my lips during this period. I have never had the slightest return of the disease, though a sister who had medical treatment for the same trouble recurrences of it every few months until she was finally treated and permanently healed by Christian Science.

Many other ailments, such as biliousness, headache, and colds, have been overcome. One chronic trouble did not yield for a year or more, but it has long since disappeared, and I can now look back with gratitude to every one of these trails, which are seen only as stepping-stones to a larger and broader unfoldment. My great joy is that I have at last found a religion which can be applied to every experience of life. I have been able to help others in my family, and this has given me the greatest happiness of all. It does my heart good to see them one after another accepting this beautiful truth.
