Among the Churches

Current Notes

Racine, Wis. —One of the principal real estate transfers consummated in this city for some time was closed yesterday [Dec. 22], when the property of First Church of Christ, Scientist, was sold to the Standard Oil Company of Indiana for twenty-five thousand dollars. The members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, have not decided what site they will select for a new location, having several favorable places in mind. However, they have felt the need of a more favorable location for some time. In the mean time temporary quarters will be secured, where services will be held and the affairs of the church will go along unbroken.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.—The corner-stone of the new church edifice of the Christian Science Society of this city was laid on Christmas morning. The church will cost, with the fixtures and lot, slightly over five thousand dollars. The location is one of the most desirable in the city, being the corner lot on South River Street and Osceola Avenue. This location affords a view both up and down New River and can be plainly seen from many parts of the city, being but one short block from the Dixie Highway bridge and three blocks from the business center of the city.
