Without the slightest knowledge of Christian Science, and...
Without the slightest knowledge of Christian Science, and yet with a feeling of ridicule for what I thought it to be, I was instantaneously healed in one treatment of a most severe case of tonsilitis, of chronic stomach disorder, and of the bad habit of taking drugs. While visiting in the home of a Christian Scientist about seven years ago, I was suddenly stricken with throat trouble. It alarmed me greatly, for I had a bad spell of it almost every year and would be under the doctor's care for several weeks at a time. I knew no doctors in the city where I was visiting, and so for several days lay quite ill, not knowing which way to trun and never giving Christian Science a thought. When, however, a member of the household spoke to me about this teaching, the thought came to me. "Prove all things;" and in order to be able to say from experience that there was nothing in it, I consented to a treatment, with the above mentioned result.
The healing was a revelation to me, and I sincerely hope that those who may be doubting will take courage from this testimony. We had been believers in homeopathy for years, and I had been the nurse for the family, with a material remedy for every ill, but I have not taken or caused to be taken one drop of medicine since 1909. I have been able to interest most of my family in Christian Science, and for my husband's complete healing of paralysis, in seven treatments, I am most grateful.
When I first began to attend the church services I did not enjoy the Wednesday evening meetings, but I attended them regularly, wishing to be obedietn in every way to Mrs. Eddy's teachings. After about two years I was healed in one of these meetings of the need for glasses, which a specialist had said I would always have to wear. I am profoundly grateful to our beloved Leader, whose clear vision and untiring labor have given us our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
