Our periodicals have brought us so many helpful thoughts...

Our periodicals have brought us so many helpful thoughts that I would like through them to tell of a few of the many ways in which Christian Science has benefited our home. It was first brought to my mother's notice by the healing of her invalid sister in three weeks' treatment, which convinced her that this was the truth that Jesus taught and applied in his healing ministry. Since that time she has been an earnest student of Christian Science, and has found it an invaluable and unfailing help in rearing a family and attending to the many duties on a farm. Especially is she enabled to prove man's God-given dominion over every material circumstance in her care for a handsome flock of poultry. Loss of little chicks, sickness, smothering, menace by hawks and so-called animals of prey, as well as difficulty in finding a proper market,—conditions apparently common among poultry raisers,—have been almost entirely eliminated from this flock, and it is a joy to see its response to absence of fear, due to the owner's realization that "all is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all" (Science and Health, p. 468).

My sister has been wonderfully healed of inflammatory rheumatism in its worst form. It had apparently reached the heart, and medical law would have given her but a few hours to live, when Christian Science treatment was asked for. Relief came in a few moments, and the recovery was steady and complete. When very young I was beautifully healed in a few treatments of what was called a severe case of scarlet fever, affecting the throat in such a way that several times it was feared I would strangle. although this is considered a contagious disease, it was not contracted by any other member of the family.

With regard to school work the application of this one perfect Science has caused whatever success I have had in the solving of problems, in laboratory experiments, and in the mastery of a foreign language. It has given freedom from anxiety over examinations, confidence to undertake tasks formerly thought impossible, and has made all my work a joy. Moreover, it has filled my consciousness with so much love and thanksgiving that there is no room for resentment toward any one. I have never tasted a drop of medicine, have been taught not to fear anything, and scarcely know what it is to be less than happy. My one desire is to know ever more of this beautiful truth, and to prove by works rather than words my gratitude to our God who is Love, to Christ Jesus the Wayshower, and to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who so bravely and faithfully followed in his footsteps.
