The Lectures

The Alaska Citizen

Fairbanks, Alaska (Society).—Virgil O. Strickler, lecturer; introduced by Guy B. Erwin, who said in part:—

There is no religion to-day that more closely adheres to the teachings of the Scriptures than does Christian Science, and especially to that which the Master taught and commended to his followers. Christian Science affirms that God's law is unchanging, never held in suspension, and is "the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever;" that God is, as the Bible declares, the Father above, "with whom is no neither shadow of turning;" that what was true in Jesus' time is true to-day, and that the works he did may be done again. It is this understanding of divine Principle which heals to-day as it healed in the days of the Master, and as it always will heal when correctly applied. The world already owes much to Christian Science for its wonderful message bringing this ministry of healing and salvation to a people in bondage to the creeds, doctrines, and time-honored systems of a material age, and the debt grows in proportion as the enlightenment spreads.
