Christian Science came to me some ten years ago in response, as it seemed, to an earnest desire to understand the Bible. Science and Health was generously given to me by a passing acquaintance. I read the book through with difficulty, but always with the desire to find the truth if it was there, and with willingness to change standpoints which were the result of previous education. The blessing to me was great. I turned again to the Bible, impressed by Mrs. Eddy's statements that the truth taught in Science and Health was the truth taught by Jesus and demonstrable in the life of every sincere seeker for Truth. The fact that every man could prove the supremacy of Spirit in his own experience was the great attraction to me, for it vitalized religion; and if true, then indeed salvation was come to men.

My first conscious proving of the truth came in connection with a weak instep, which had troubled me from time to time. A realization of the significance of the verse, "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings," healed me. Rheumatism yielded to the spiritual fact that in God "we live, and move, and have our being." These were the beginnings of the workings of Truth for me in the overcoming of sickness; and I am deeply grateful that ignorance and fear also have been to some extent eliminated.

How grateful we are for this understanding of the truth which makes us toward others and patient with ourselves, until the false trust is destroyed. I am truly thankful that the time was ripe for Christian Science, and that our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, was prepared to deliver this redemptive truth; also that I was enabled to receive it.
