With all my heart I am grateful for having been brought...
With all my heart I am grateful for having been brought to the light of understanding as revealed to us in Christian Science. The Bible is a new book to me, for I can read it apprehendingly by means of its spiritual interpretation as given to us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy,—this world-wide blessing to mankind.
My first knowledge of Christian Science came through physical healing. Having sustained internal injuries by falling from a horse, I could neither eat nor sleep and my suffering was intense. While I was in this condition we chanced to meet a Christian Scientist, who assured me with utmost certainty that if I believed in the efficacy of prayer and relied on God implicitly, medicine would not be needed. I was most willing to do so, and with the simplicity of a child asked her to pray for me. She consented, and healing resulted in twenty-four hours. I was deeply impressed yet unable to comprehend, and told the Christian Scientist emphatically that I was sure the pain would return; but it never did.
Naturally I became interested in Christian Science, and on returning home took up the study of this teaching, which has since proven to be an ever-present help in trouble. For at least twenty years I had been afflicted with neuritis in my arms, but this ailment has been entirely overcome through the reading of Science and Health. For twelve years I have relied on Christian Science, and it has always met my need. How thankful we are that Mrs. Eddy has shown us the way to apprehend the Bible teachings so we can apply divine Love to all our needs.—Rose Rokker, Springfield, III.
