A great sense of burden has rolled away from both mind and body since my introduction to Christian Science. The healing of a friend led me to investigate this teaching, with the result that after I had attended the Sunday service for several months, acute attacks of stomach disorder of many years' standing disappeared entirely. It was, however, not until about a year later that the fundamental teachings of Christian Science were really understood. Then the healing of numerous other physical ailments followed, among them neuralgia, which was thought to be inherited, and a cough which lasted through the winters from my childhood; also heavy colds became less frequent. For many years one eye had been of no real use to me, but I suddenly discovered that I could use it for reading.
It was several years before a sense of grief, bitterness, resentment, and hatred was wiped out of my consciousness, but when my mental vision was finally cleared the depth of my joy, love, and gratitude no tongue can tell. When I learned to understand and demonstrate that evil is impersonal, no person, place, or thing, but a false belief, there was an added peace and better self-control manifested. Above all, Christian Science is a religion that "meets the heart's great need;" a practical religion of daily use in solving all our problems, yet leading to divine heights where man and the universe are revealed as spiritual and harmonious.
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God for the revelation of the truth, and my deep appreciation of His inspired messenger, Mrs. Eddy, through whose labor of love the whole world is benefiting. Mrs. R. P. Irvin, Minneapolis, Minn.
