Among the Churches

Current Notes

Norway, Maine.—During the past twelve months the Christian Science Society has distributed through the mail 468 Sentinels, 67 Journals, and 905 Monitors. A number of these publications, as well as pamphlets, have also been distributed by hand. There have been sold since March, when the books were first put on sale in Norway, nine copies of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," three of "Miscellaneous Writings," and one Manual. The sales of Quarterlies have more than doubled.—Correspondence.

Omaha, Neb.—Second Church of Christ, Scientist, has bought a lot at Forty-sixth and Davenport Streets, preparatory to building a church. The lot is 70 by 125 feet, beautifully situated and convenient for the members of the congregation. The price paid was thirty-seven hundred and fifty dollars. Plans are also under way for the erection of a Christian Science church in the north part of the city. Omaha Bee.

Palo Alto, Cal.—Construction work has been begun on the new Christian Science church edifice at Bryant Street and Forest Avenue. The building will cost twenty thousand dollars, not including the furnishings. The main auditorium will have a seating capacity of five hundred and the Sunday school room two hundred. The lot is 100 by 112½ feet, and the building is almost as large as the lot.—Palo Alto Times.
