It is with a deep sense of gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me that I send this testimony. From childhood I had been delicate, suffering from spinal weakness, severe headaches, and stomach trouble. Then in 1909 my attention was drawn to Christian Science and a copy of Science and Health was purchased. After studying this book for a short time I found myself gradually growing stronger, so that my work was done without the pain hitherto experienced, and now my strength is equal to that of the average woman.
For this physical healing I am indeed grateful, but much more so for the spiritual understanding of the Scriptures which has been revealed to me in the study of the Bible as taught in Christian Science. It is daily being proved to me that God is a very present help in time of need. For this practical religion, and for the peace and joy that have come into my life, words can never express my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer of this glorious teaching. My desire is so to live each day that I may show "my faith by my works."
Ellen Ballard, Whitefield, near Manchester, England.
