It is with a sense of deep gratitude that I would like to tell of how I was healed through Christian Science. In 1907 I went to Frankfort-on-the-Main to visit my daughter. We walked a great deal and I climbed many stairs, when I suddenly became aware of my feet being swollen. I did not pay much attention to this condition at first, as in such a case, while at home, one treatment in Christian Science would usually relieve me. This time, however, things became worse each day, and the swelling extended to the legs; in fact I felt ill all over. Those around me, not being convinced as to the truth of Christian Science, were most emphatic in their desire to call a physician.
As we had been adherents of Christian Science for years, my one desire was to return to Hannover, and consequently I was removed to that city. Christian Science treatment was taken up immediately upon my arrival, and I tried to do my share by declaring the truth to the best of my knowledge and by holding fast unto the thought that God is our life and that nothing can harm me. In less than a week my feet and legs, which had been in a dreadful condition, were entirely normal, every vestige of disease had left the system, and I felt well and strong, although I had already reached the age of seventy. I have not been troubled with that condition since.
I need give no words of assurance with regard to my grateful feeling, and to my sense of indebtedness to Mrs. Eddy for having pointed out the way of truth which through God's love I have found in Christian Science.
