A few years ago I became despondent, and was without hope or aim in life. Christian Science came to me through an aunt who has been a student of Science for a good many years, and who recommended that I read Science and Health. I read continually, and at once began to put off the old man with his ways and to put on the new man. About this time, however, a trouble manifested itself in my ear. The fact that an aunt, having had a similar affection, became deaf, made me somewhat more fearful ; but I read Science and Health, and though my understanding was small I was soon relieved.
I have had many opportunities to interest others and help them find the way to peace and happiness. A member of my family was advised to have an operation, — to be performed within five days, otherwise a malignant growth would set in. In the mean while he had Science treatment, and when the fifth day came, on examination the physician found nothing on which to operate. He was also healed of the morphine habit. Christian Science has shown me my supply. I can truly say, God is my All-in-all, and words cannot express my gratitude for the peace, rest, and understanding of God's nearness that this truth has brought me.
