After being told of a wonderful case of healing through Christian Science, my mother decided to try it for me, as seven physicians had said that they had done all they could and that if we knew of anything else we had better try it. She felt that Christian Science could do me no harm, even if it did me no good.

For four years I had never been free from terrible pain in the back. Being in very limited circumstances, however, I had felt obliged to work, the result every time being a complete nervous breakdown. Every physician treated me for something different. I was experimented on for lung trouble, kidney and bladder trouble, liver complaint, sciatic rheumatism, and dislocated hip. At times the pain was so severe in the back of my head that I was almost unconscious, and for months I did not know what it was to sleep at night. The last five months before turning to Christian Science I was confined to my room, in bed most of the time.

After one week's treatment in Christian Science I was able to have my clothes on and ride two miles over rough roads with very little pain. In two months I was completely healed. Soon afterward I was given the privilege of working on the same machine that I had broken down on three times before. With lots of hard mental work and the realization that God is the only power, I have mastered my fear of it entirely and have proven that I can work every day without being the least bit fatigued. I am so happy to know this truth which Christ Jesus said would make us free from pain and sin.
