The truth as revealed unto "babes" was made very plain...

The truth as revealed unto "babes" was made very plain to me one night many months ago, when my small son, then but five years of age, called from his room at midnight, asking me to come and read for him. He had an attack of asthma, and being quite bad during the day I had read from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, a good deal, but on looking for these books I found that I had left them on the first floor, so I picked up a small book of Bible texts, topically arranged, went to him, and sitting at his beside began to read, silently, which we were accustomed to do if reading when the rest of the family were asleep. I had only begun when he rose from his pillow, shading his eyes, which were badly swollen from the long siege of coughing, and complained, "Why, mother, you are not reading the Bible or Science and Health." I replied that I was reading Bible texts. I was too intent upon my work to think much about it until he again said, "Mother, won't you read aloud to me tonight?" I did so, and had read only a few lines when he interrupted me with, "Oh, that's all right, now you may read to yourself," and with such a peaceful smile he turned away from me, over on his side, and in a few minutes was fast asleep. He slept peacefully the rest of the night, was out at play the next morning, and has never been troubled with asthma since, this being over a year and a half ago. This proved to me that he knew the truth when he heard it, and that his insistence upon having the truth, and his perfect faith in its healing power, brought its perfect reward.

I have received many blessings through the Christian Science teachings, for which I am most grateful to God, and also to Mrs. Eddy for showing us how to apply them, and for her patience and her love for God and man.
