I awoke early one June morning and went out on the porch. It was yet dark, and the air fresh and fragrant from the breath of clover. As I sat watching the clouds slowly rolling away, and the deep, beautiful blue of the sky appearing between them, the darkness gradually disappeared, the daylight came, and I could not help comparing this with the dawn of a new life, the light and peace that come with Christian Science. Thus the heavy clouds of sorrow, grief, and ill health pass out of our lives, and a new, bright, and glorious spiritual light shines for us, as we earnestly study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. How grateful I am to God for revealing anew the healing truth which is life eternal, and which opens the pages of the Bible with a new meaning! This is an every-day solace to our awakening consciousness. The old days of worry and disease are being submerged in the truth, in the understanding of God and man's relationship to Him.

For years previous to my healing in February, 1905, I was a disbeliever in a future state. I thought we were as the flowers,—that we lived and bloomed, and faded away,—but as I watched by the bedside of my son, seventeen years old, who passed on under medical treatment, I learned that there is something beyond this earthly existence, and as we study the life of Christ Jesus we know that there certainly is no death. I commenced to study Science and Health for the religion, the spiritual understanding, and I was indeed helped and my grief was overcome. At that time my health was very bad, as I was said to have an enlarged liver and suffered from all the symptoms which develop with that disease. I would become faint and fall, no matter where I happened to be; but I have been healed of that trouble, and during my six or more years in Christian Science I have been healed of several attacks of different diseases.

I am truly thankful to God for Christian Science, and also grateful to Mrs. Eddy for all my blessings—for my spiritual understanding and physical help. My only desire is to be a good Christian Scientists, to follow and live the teachings of Christ Jesus as interpreted by our Leader.
