I wish to express through the Sentinel what Christian Science has done for me, in the hope that it may be a help to some sufferer such as I was. Eleven years ago childbirth left me suffering terribly, owing to internal troubles, and the following year I was ordered by physicians to go to a hospital for medical treatment. My limbs were becoming helpless, and I was told that if this were not arrested I should never walk again. I lay there nine weeks, resting and taking medicine, after which I came out no better, and six months later my second child was born. I was again ordered by my doctor to another hospital in Edinburgh, where I underwent an operation, performed by the leading physician, which however left me in an even worse condition, in constant agony internally, also having terrible headaches. After the birth of the third child, I was again under the knife, five different operations being performed, and an abnormal growth removed.

Six years after, when another child was expected, I was in great misery, but in my distress I was divinely directed to Christian Science. A Sentinel was given me by a stranger, to whose house God had led my footsteps. On returning home, and on reading the Sentinel, I knew I had found what I wanted, and knew I could be cured by Christian Science, although this was the first time I had ever heard of it; but before the child could be born I was told that another operation had to be performed. This was done, but it left me in the same condition as formerly. When my child was over three months old I was daily getting worse, and an operation facing me again, I decided to have Christian Science treatment.
