[Written for the Sentinel.]

WITH THEE

One moment, Lord, with Thee—
And I am whole!
To cast out self and all my sin efface,
To come so near Thee that I see Thy face
And feel the breath of Life and calm embrace
Of Love's control.

One moment only—and my limbs
Are free from pain!
One moment—but it must with Thee be spent,
Entirely, fully, with no stray thought bent
On worldly things. So find I sweet content
With Thee again.
