Christian Science came to me over four years ago

Christian Science came to me over four years ago. I began to read Science and Health to see what it taught, and I had not read very far before I found a reference to Jesus' words, "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat." I stopped for a moment and realized that I had been thinking more about what I should or should not eat than anything else. I was so interested in the book that I kept on reading until supper time, when I ate heartily, something I had not done for several months, on account of stomach trouble, and I felt no bad effects from that meal or any other since then. I read the book every spare moment until I finished it, and thought it the best I had ever read. Since then the Bible and Science and Health have been my constant companions. When I first went to church it happened to be the first Sunday of the month. I enjoyed the peace and quietude, and the "Rule for Motives and Acts" (Manual, Art. VIII, Sect. I) also impressed me very much.

Severe cold and headache, a skin trouble, and burns have been overcome for me in Christian Science, and I have felt the protection of divine Love in case of accident. I am grateful that the truth is crowding all sense of fear, worry, anxiety, and all wrong thoughts out of my mentality. My household work is much easier since I have gained some understanding of Christian Science.

I could not tell all the blessings I have had. I always enjoy the testimonies of others, and I rejoice to know that so many are being made happy. One member of my own family has been cured of the drink habit, another of appendicitis. I am thankful to God, also grateful to Mrs. Eddy for showing us the way in Christian Science. I am grateful to the Publishing Society for our good literature.
