Los Angeles (Cal.) Tribune

The Christian Science Monitor of Boston got out a complete daily edition at Chicago during the Republican convention. In order to do this it had established at Chicago a complete plant, and secured a staff of competent men, many of whom must have been Chicago reporters, for the local work was as thoroughly covered as the political field. The reports of the convention were profuse, yet well ordered and without partizan color. Editorially the paper was at the high standard already made familiar through the Boston publication. Typographically it excelled any of the Chicago dailies of which it had become the sudden contemporary.
