Unbounded gratitude urges me to relate some of the great blessings granted me since the truth was presented at a time when I was in great need. For many years I had experienced distress in head, also chronic stomach and bowel troubles. For a long time I had been living in wrong ways, and this finally resulted in my leaving my family. Then came financial reverses, remorse, inability to prosper in business as formerly, loss of courage, fear of insanity, and thoughts of suicide.

Christian Science was presented to me but I refused it. Two weeks later, when I was in the depths of despair, it was presented once more and I grudgingly consented to consult a practitioner, although only on matters of business. When the appointment was made I had little thought of talking of my physical troubles, for I had been an unbeliever in the Bible for many years and did not think Christian Science could effect physical cures. I felt foolish as soon as I had agreed to the appointment, but after being with the practitioner a few minutes it was a relief to tell all my troubles, and I completely unburdened myself. The truths of the Bible were presented to me in a new way, and I daily thank God that I recognized the truth. It came to me as a light from heaven; it comforted and surrounded me. I at once felt different: I was awakened spiritually. I realized the error I was in, and resolving from that moment to live a new life and to worship the only true God, I was given strength to further my resolves.

Two hours later I left the practitioner cured of all physical ailments; I had had an instantaneous healing, and with the exception of one or two minor ills, which have been promptly overcome, the physical ailments have never returned. Smoking, drinking, and other undesirable habits left me; I had no further interest in them. My one desire was, is, and always will be, to study and learn more of the great and good Principle of Christian Science, that brought to one who was very miserable a new sense of Life, Love, Truth, with peace, happiness, calm, and content. A month later, my wife and son learned of this same God-given truth, and it was not long before we together started to live a life of health, harmony, and happiness. I have experienced a complete reversal of all thoughts and actions and now realize what life really is. Christian Science brings wisdom and assistance every moment of our lives. This has been very marked in my daily business life. Fear of lack as well as fear of ill-health has been eliminted from my thought. In God I have all the counsel and support I need in my business. While a material sense of prosperity no longer interests me, I am blessed with greater prosperity and my business hours are hours of pleasure. The absolute truth and the golden rule can really and truth be practised in selling goods and in every business transaction.
