While appreciating the kindly tone of the article on Christian Science, I must point out that Christian Science, far from being akin to suggestion, is the one system which can lift man above being affected by it.
Christian Science teaches that there is but one Mind, one intelligence in the universe, and that this is the Mind which is absolute Truth, God. It then goes on to show us that this infinite Mind is not subdivided into innumerable independent minds, but is reflected or expressed in all good, true thinking. What we commonly call a man's mind is not an originator of thought, but a receiver. A genius, an inventor, does not create anything, but is one who perceives something which has not previously been discerned. In order to reflect more of this pure intelligence, we must endeavor to shut the door of consciousness on all suggestions of error, and constantly strive to know the truth which alone can make us free from the suffering which follows incorrect or sinful thinking.
