Like many others, my first healing in Christian Science was such a revelation of the power and love of God, that in gratitude I give it as one more proof of the present availability of the Christ-cure. In six weeks' treatment I was perfectly healed of an abscess in its most serious form, experiencing none of the distressing after effects which usually attend this ailment. The healing was accomplished under adverse conditions, as in the surrounding thought there was opposition, the result of lack of faith in anything but medical aid and surgery, and my own knowledge of Christian Science was very limited. My husband, however, was willing that I should have treatment, indeed we were convinced of the truth and efficacy of this mode of healing, since it proved God to be, as Christ Jesus taught, omnipotent and omnipresent; and we were desirous of being obedient to his teachings. Surely the reward was great, for not only was our confidence deepened into an understanding of God which has proved Him to be not only then but many times since "a very present help in trouble." Besides this, the eyes of others were opened to the truth. Thus the healing redeeming work goes on.

May my gratitude be expressed as our Leader, she who has brought this truth to us, would have it be, in the actions which express "more gratitude than speech" (Science and Health, p. 3).—Bessie W. Whittier, Everett, Mass.
