Christian Science found me almost a physical and mental...

Christian Science found me almost a physical and mental wreck; but now, thank God, I am in excellent health, and every one in my household has received benefits. I will mention two cases. One was that of my husband, who was stricken with a complication of diseases. His temperature was very high and he could take very little food. When the doctor asked me about notifying relatives I was very much alarmed. The doctor went out, saying he would return in about thirty minutes. A Christian Science practitioner came during his absence, and when the doctor returned he said the temperature was down to normal. We all saw the wonderful change. My husband continued to improve, and I knew it to be the work of Christian Science, but could not understand how it was done.

Another case was that of the baby. She had been failing slowly. Some doctors said it was on account of my health, and objected to my nursing the child. Others said it was flesh decay. We had several physicians, one being in regular attendance. We tried everything we knew, but found no help for the child. In desperation I wrote for help to the same practitioner. The following Sunday the child was so low that friends thought she had passed on, and thought me demented when I insisted on holding her. She was cold and apparently lifeless, but I still had faith in the power of God, though I did not understand. She became warm and signs of life returned; the doctor and friends seemed satisfied and left her to me, saying they could do no more. The babe was one year old, and weighed only ten pounds, but the work in Christian Science was done very thoroughly and I know it will stand.

I am glad of this opportunity to express my thanks for the many blessings we have received through this wonderful truth, given us through our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
