With a heart full of gratitude for Christian Science I...
With a heart full of gratitude for Christian Science I give my testimony, hoping it will benefit some one who is seeking to be loosed from bondage. One evening in June, 1910, while about my work at the factory, I was suddenly taken ill, and consciousness seemed to be leaving me, so that I was unable to tell any one what to do for me; but they did the best they knew. I was put into an automobile and taken home, and while on the way I was at times conscious enough to wonder what had become of my right hand and arm. I then found that I had lost the use of my entire right side. When I reached the house my wife met me at the door and assured me that I would be all right, as I was already being treated by a Christian Science practitioner. This was about seven o'clock, and an hour later I suddenly got up and walked around the room; my wife prepared me some supper and I ate heartily. About nine o'clock the bosses of the factory came in to see how I was getting along, and were surprised to find me sitting on the front porch ready to speak to them. They told me not to think of coming to the factory the next day, as it was Saturday and I would have a couple of days to rest up; but to their surprise I was able to be there the next day. I stayed until noon, and came home feeling perfectly well and proceeded to cut the grass on the lawn.
This was to me indeed a wonderful proof that Christian Science is the truth which makes men free. For this healing and many other blessings received I am deeply grateful to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
