AMONG THE CHURCHES

[The following letter is so indicative of the interest and enthusiasm attendant on the campaign for clean journalism as an essential factor in the general uplift of human thought, that we are glad to give it place in our columns.]

Editor-in-Chief, The Christian Science Monitor:—Last evening the six churches and two societies of Greater Los Angeles met together in the interest of the Monitor. This meeting was the largest and most helpful we have had in connection with the work for the Monitor. A number of individual experiences were given which vividly portrayed the helpful and regenerative work our paper is accomplishing. A deep feeling of gratitude was manifested, which took expression in the form of a resolution instructing the chairman to telegraph you the sentiment of the meeting. In accordance with this instruction, the following night letter was sent:—

"The members of the churches and societies of Greater Los Angeles, in joint meeting assembled for the object of extending the circulation of the Monitor, and thus fulfilling our Leader's purpose to elevate and purify the world's consciousness through clean journalism, extend to you their appreciation of the work accomplished by our daily paper. You may count on us at all times for cooperation."
