The time has arrived when I feel that I ought to give...

The time has arrived when I feel that I ought to give my testimony, which may be of help to others, especially those of my own country, Switzerland. Seven years ago I left Geneva for England, after having gone through illnesses of every description. The climate of England seemed to be very bad for me; I was constantly ill, and after a few weeks something led me to go to America. Arrived there, I was given the opportunity of traveling in Canada, in Texas and the West, but with no improvement to my health. After this trip I tried to work again as a teacher, and obtained a most desirable position in a good school, where I had everything to make me happy, but after a few months my health broke down completely. The doctor gave me little hope of recovery, and advised me to leave America, saying that the climate was not suited to me.

This was perhaps the hardest moment of my life, and the future looked very dark. I went to New York, where I was almost too ill to go out. Some few years before I had lost two brothers, with lung and heart disease, and on account of these two fatal illnesses in our family, the doctors naturally gave me up. I had heard of Christian Science from some English friends before I had left Geneva, and one day in New York the thought of this came back to me, and at once it came into my mind to try it, as I was very unwilling to return to Geneva. This was the turning-point for me. I obtained Mrs. Eddy's book, and the first time I opened the Bible the truth was revealed to me. I felt that I had no longer any need of doctors or medicine, which I had taken in great quantities all my life. My cure might be said to have been instantaneous, for from that moment all pain left me, and morally and physically I was a changed being. A month later I resumed my work in perfect health, and from this time I have been uniformly happy and successful, and have never had the slightest return of illness in any form.

I hope this testimony may help many others who are perhaps in the seemingly hopeless condition that I was six years ago. I am now a practitioner in the field, and I have been the means of bringing health to many others. I would express my deepest gratitude to God for my wonderful healing, and at the same time give voice to my love and esteem for our beloved Leader, who has shown us the way which otherwise was hidden from our eyes.
