Christian Science was brought to my attention nearly...
Christian Science was brought to my attention nearly five years ago. I began by studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and read some Sentinels, also a lecture which had been given to me. I was not then looking for any physical healing, but I was interested in this literature, which seemed to bring me something I had been seeking for years. My hunger for an understanding of God had never been satisfied, although I had been a church-member for many years. After reading Science and Health for three weeks, I laid aside the glasses which an oculist had told me I would always need, as one eye had very defective vision; but I have never worn glasses from that day to this. Numerous are the cases of pain and suffering which I have witnessed go out before the presence of Truth.
I am very grateful for this knowledge of Truth, as the understanding has given me many an opportunity of proving God's presence with us daily in the home as I make application of the Principle of Christian Science. My growth seems to have been slow, but this has caused me to study harder and work more assiduously to prove my faith by my works. It has been my great joy to have class instruction, and the clear teaching given us in the literature sent out under the wise directions of our Leader is an abundant source of wealth. When I look back over the years gone by, and see out of what darkness I was led. I am truly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for having brought to us this new-old truth. The stone is indeed "rolled away from the sepulcher," and I can best express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, by striving for the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," seeking daily for the "hidden manna" and serving God faithfully every day by the prompt removal of error in all its forms.
Mrs. Clara Gammon, Keota, Iowa.
