"Christian Science: The New Light upon Old Truths," was the subject of a lecture delivered in Pavilion Rink yesterday afternoon [Sept. 17] by William R. Rathvon. He was introduced by Mrs. Fred Breyman, second reader in First Church of Christ, Scientist, in this city, who said:—

If I were asked what convinces people that Christian Science is the truth, my reply would be that its teachings and its works furnish proof that it is the fulfilment of the promises of God, who says: "Unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;" and I stand before you this afternoon a witness to God's promises fulfilled through Christian Science. Christian Science is practical, demonstrable truth, and every one who so desires can prove this for himself. Jesus healed the multitudes of all manner of diseases. He did this in accordance with a law which he understood. This law is available today, and is in a large measure accepted and demonstrated by thousands, through the understanding of Christian Science.—San Francisco Examiner.
