I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to God for the many blessings which I now enjoy through the study and application of the truth as given to us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had suffered two years with what the doctors pronounced gall-stones and black jaundice. From this latter trouble I had become darker than an Indian. At last they told my husband that nothing would save my life except an operation, but as two of our family had been on the operating-table, and both had passed on, we did not care to try it again.

At this point my husband decided that we would try Christian Science. He at once wrote to a practitioner in a neighboring city, who gave me absent treatment for one week. At the end of that time I was able to be taken to her home, where I stayed for three weeks, and then went to visit a sister. I, however, kept up the treatment a few weeks longer, and came home healed, and from then on I have worked at anything I wished to do. We have had many demonstrations in our family,—with our children and grandchildren,—since that time.

This was in the fall of 1908, and I have gained gretly in weight, but best of all I and my family have learned the power of Christian Science to uplift and bring us into a better understanding of God and man. It makes the Bible a new book, one which we all love to study and to make the guide of our daily living. Every day I have fresh proofs of the power of Truth to heal both disease and sin, and I feel very thankful that there is a divine Principle by which we may be guided. Christian Science has taught me that Jesus' promises are for us now and at all times.
