I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science...
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. While I did not come to it for physical healing, I have been healed of defective eyesight, partial deafness, chronic throat trouble, and constant cough and colds; also of a physical deformity. While I am grateful for the healing of all these ills, I am still more grateful for the healing of a very disagreeable disposition. Before coming into Christian Science I was always unhappy, always disagreeable, always discontented, and I had no friends. In fact, I spent much time for some months before beginning to study our inspired text-book, in figuring out the most effective method of ending my life.
All this is now changed! I am always happy, always contented, always at peace with the world, and I have hosts of friends. I am grateful to know that I am learning to love my neighbor as myself; also, that "love is the fulfilling of the law." I am grateful every moment for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and all the rest of Mrs. Eddy's books; grateful for the understanding of the Bible which I am gaining; grateful for all of our periodicals, including the Monitor; grateful that I am situated so that I can attend a Christian Science church; grateful for the Lesson-Sermon, and for the solos in the church I attend, for they have been of untold value to me many, many times. I am grateful for the lectures on Christian Science. But above all, I am most grateful to God because He has enabled Mrs. Eddy to make known this healing truth to all mankind, and I thank her for all she has made possible for me and for all humanity. I am daily striving to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus" and to know myself.
