When Christian Science was first suggested to me, it was after many of the best and most eminent physicians, both in America and in London and Paris, had entirely failed to give me anything but temporary relief from sleeplessness and a severe stomach disorder of fifteen years' standing. When I had gone three weeks without any solid food, those about me feared that starvation must be the end; but Christian Science was then resorted to, and in less than two weeks' time the trip from Toledo, O., to the Communion service in Boston was made with no ill effects, and I realized a steady gain in physical health. During the following year, the drug habit of seven years' standing and the use of stimulants were entirely overcome, and not once has either been resorted to, in the years that have intervened. Physical pains have been almost unknown, though great physical endurance has been required, whereas before for fifteen years the days and nights had been filled with the most intense suffering, and its consequent discomfort to all those about me. I send my testimony with the hope that it may help some one groping as I was for physical relief, that they too may find as I have the ever-ready aid of divine Mind, that heals all our diseases. To say that I am grateful to the author of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," but faintly expresses what I feel, and to God, who has blessed my life through this wonderful book.
